Slow Boring

Was really excited to work on this one. A new graphic identity and logo for journalist Matthew Yglesias' blog, Slow Boring. He takes his title from the Max Weber quote: “Politics is a strong and slow boring of hard boards. It takes both passion and perspective.”

Ballsy title for a blog. So how can a logo help connect those dots, when the average person won't have the context of the quote? I challenged myself to evoke drilling down as well as the written word.

Ultimately we landed on a negative space fountain pen tip, forming the letters SB.
